The Brotherhood of Rock Tour brought three rock ‘n’ roll legends to Holmdel’s PNC Bank Arts Center: Styx, Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon, and Don Felder of Eagles.
Not only did both Styx and Cronin perform full headlining sets, both played one of their best records in full, in ‘The Grand Illusion’ and ‘Hi Fidelity.’
Don Felder, who played guitar and wrote songs during Eagles’ ‘golden era’ from 1974 to 2001, opened the night with favorites from the Eagles’ catalogue.

Felder played his hits, both in his solo career and with Eagles, like ‘Hollywood Victim’ and ‘Hotel California.’ At 77 years old, Felder came in with strong energy throughout his set, and his band killed as well, playing for nearly an hour.

Setlist:
- Already Gone (Robb Strandlund song)
- One of These Nights (Eagles song)
- The Long Run (Eagles song)
- Seven Bridges Road (Eagles song)
- Hollywood Victim
- Heavy Metal (Takin’ a Ride)
- Take It Easy (Eagles song)
- Heartache Tonight (Eagles song)
- Life in the Fast Lane (Eagles song)
- Hotel California (Eagles song)
Kevin Cronin, former lead singer of REO Speedwagon, hit the stage next. He and his band opened with ‘Don’t Let Him Go’ and performed the entirety of ‘Hi Fidelity,’ which had attendees on their feet the entire time.
After playing the 1980 hit record, Cronin played five other REO hits to precision. Despite not being called REO Speedwagon anymore, the Kevin Cronin Band is essentially that.

Not only did Cronin play great on guitar and had a perfect vocal night, he also hopped on the piano to play a few tracks.

Setlist:
- Don’t Let Him Go
- Keep On Loving You
- Follow My Heart
- In Your Letter
- Take It on the Run
- Tough Guys
- Out of Season
- Shakin’ It Loose
- Someone Tonight
- I Wish You Were There
- Keep Pushin’
- Time for Me to Fly
- Ridin’ the Storm Out
- Can’t Fight This Feeling
- Roll With the Changes
Styx took the stage next for a final headlining set. With just an LED screen and a few guys who rocked the ’70s and ’80s on stage, the band was able to immerse PNC Bank Arts Center right into that era.

The band performed the entirety of ‘The Grand Illusion,’ which included their biggest hit, ‘Come Sail Away’ within the first 20 minutes of the show.
Being at so many shows at PNC, I’ve never seen every single person, including security and concessions, singing along to one song together. The energy was unique, and the tour name really speaks true: The Brotherhood of Rock. That’s what it felt like.

Setlist:
- The Grand Illusion
- Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)
- Superstars
- Come Sail Away
- Miss America
- Man in the Wilderness
- Castle Walls
- The Grand Finale
- Rockin’ the Paradise
- Too Much Time on My Hands
- Lady
- Build and Destroy
- The Best of Times
- Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)
- Mr. Roboto
- Renegade
For a tour with three of the most renowned rock ‘n’ roll names in the business, the tour was certainly a huge nostalgia act that spans over 50 years, but that didn’t stop a diverse crowd in the audience. Along with the expected crowd of older adults, there were kids and teens who were captivated by all three performances.
