New Jersey’s own That Nu-Metal Band announced their breakup on Tuesday morning. The band says it’s just the right time to move on.
“Lately it’s been tough keep to keep our lineup on the same page,’ the band said on Instagram. “It happens when you have 8 members. It’s ok. It’s time.”
The band, who formed in Newark half a decade ago, will be playing a final hometown show on November 29 at QXT’s.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. It’s not a decision we take lightly, and we hope you join us for one last ride,” the band said in the statement.
In a state that has so many tribute bands, That Nu-Metal Band stuck out for having a sound and such a large stage presence. The band played full-time shows just about everywhere. But, as they said themselves, they are glad to shut down the band mutually.
“As a friend pointed out, bands break up all the time, but rarely do they get to do so on their own terms.”
