Cody Johnson, Ashley McBryde, and Drew Baldridge came to New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Friday for a night of ’90s country revival and the first show of the Leather Deluxe Tour.
The show began with Illinois-native Drew Baldridge, performing his first ever arena show. Along with a brand-new song, Baldridge rallied the crowd with classic covers like Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” among others.

Ashley McBryde took the stage next with lots of crowd support from the Cody Johnson fanbase.
McBryde has won one GRAMMY Award among her six nominations, one CMA Award, and three ACM Awards. She was named CMA’s Best New Artist of 2019.

Cody Johnson came out on stage to tunes of classic Texas country like “Somewhere in Texas” by Ray Price and “Deep in the Heart of Texas” by George Straight, plus other Texas staples like “Ohio (Come Back to Texas)” by Bowling For Soup. The taped country medley was a perfect segue into “That’s Texas”, one of the singles off Johnson’s newest record and CMA Album of the Year, “Leather”.
Following “Human”, Johnson gave a speech on the state of America: “You don’t want to discuss politics with me. My three politics are red, white, and blue,” Johnson said.

Johnson also performed “I’m Gonna Love You” for the first time on the Leather Tour, which featured a taped video of Carrie Underwood in the background with her vocals. Johnson said that was the first time in 25 years that he has used a taped track.
CoJo was also gifted a golf arcade game by the Prudential Center before the show began.
