Following his benefit shows at New York City’s Beacon Theatre, Jesse Malin has been added to the main event at Light of Day Winterfest in January at Red Bank’s Count Basie Theater.
The set will be one of Malin’s first shows following his stroke which briefly sidelined his music career.
Malin will join John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem, Bob Baker, Pete Steinkopf, Dramarama, and many more.
There will be multiple shows across cities and venues throughout the area during the month of January. All performances and tickets benefit Parkinson’s disease. Over the past 25 years, the festival says that they have raised over $6.5 million to end Parkinson’s.
“What an honor to be a part of Light of Day again this year,” said Danny Clinch. “It has become an international community event in Asbury Park. I love the idea of people coming together to help others. The Transparent Clinch Gallery is ready to host some LOD shows again this year. I will never forget when Joe Grushecky invited me to sit in on harmonica with the Houserockers and Bruce Springsteen for a nine-minute version of ‘Pink Cadillac’. I immediately went straight to Rock and Roll Heaven!”
