The final shows of the year are underway in New Jersey. Many artists have announced holiday and New Years’ Eve shows throughout the state.

Below is a list of our featured shows this month.

December 3: Indigo Girls at Count Basie, Red Bank

Indigo Girls are making a stop at Red Bank’s Hackensack Meridian Theater, more notably known as the Count Basie. The venue will have a strong couple of months of shows between December and January.

December 4: Underoath at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville

Starland’s monopoly of winter shows in New Jersey continues with Underoath, who will be joined by Static Dress on the “They’re Only Chasing Safety” 20th anniversary tour.

December 5: El Alfa at Prudential Center, Newark

Dominican rapper El Alfa will be stopping at the PruCenter this week on tour. He has previously collaborated with artists like Peso Pluma at Farruko.

December 5 & 6: Kip Moore at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

Kip Moore is making his way over to the indoor Pony for two nights in Asbury Park. The Georgian-native country singer last performed in New Jersey on the Jason Aldean tour this past summer.

December 6 & 7: Taking Back Sunday at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville

Taking Back Sunday’s 10th annual “Holiday Spectacular” shows will be stopping at Starland Ballroom after two nights at Mulcahy’s on Long Island. The band is bringing along Sincere Engineer for the Friday show and Sweet Pill on night two.

There will also be a holiday pop-up shop on Sunday afternoon which will feature an acoustic set from Taking Back Sunday. Tickets are $15.

December 13: Mariah Carey at Prudential Center, Newark

Mariah Carey is making a New Jersey stop, an annual tradition for her around the holiday season. The “All I Want For Christmas is You” singer has not performed in New Jersey since 2019, but has performed in the area almost every year for years.

December 13: Joe P at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

Joe P is making his Stone Pony headlining debut this December as part of support for his newest record, “Garden State Vampire” – one that has been nominated for the NJ Music Festivals.com Awards for Record of the Year.

December 14: Streetlight Manifesto at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville

Streetlight’s annual Starland show is back this year in mid-December. As of Dec. 2, there are less than 100 tickets remaining for the show. The band has now been doing two shows in their home state per year: one at Asbury Park’s Stone Pony Summer Stage to a crowd of 4,500, and one to Sayreville’s Starland Ballroom to a crowd of 2,500.

December 14: The Front Bottoms at Etess Arena, Atlantic City

Another big show on the weekend comes as The Front Bottoms hit Atlantic City. The band will perform at Etess Arena inside the Hard Rock casino.

December 20: Low Cut Connie at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

Low Cut Connie, who are always performing in Asbury Park, will be headlining a special set at The Stone Pony.

December 21: Brian Kirk & the Jirks at Count Basie, Red Bank

Another group of people who are always around in all parts of the state – Brian Kirk and his band, The Jirks, will be at the Count Basie theater in Red Bank later this month.

December 28-30: The Bouncing Souls at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

The Bouncing Souls’ Home for the Holidays in Asbury Park returns this year for three nights, with three unique support acts at each. Below are the support for each show:

Dec. 28: Strike Anywhere, Tim Barry, Gimme Drugs

Dec. 29: Dave Hause & the Mermaid, The Ratchets, Seaside Caves

Dec. 30: The Pietasters, Beach Rats, The Kilograms

December 31: Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes at Count Basie, Red Bank

New Years’ Eve with Southside Johnny is the way to go in New Jersey. It’s a shame it isn’t in Asbury Park, but Red Bank is a great city with Count Basie being a great theater for a name like the Asbury Jukes.
