Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue delivered their signature New Orleans sound to Englewood’s Bergen Performing Arts Center on Wednesday.
The 90-minute set included about as much as you could expect from a brass band: solo songs, Limp Bizkit songs, and even playing in the crowd.

The early show ended at around 9:15 pm due to Bergen PAC’s early curfew due to it being a nonprofit venue.
For the first half, a 95% seated crowd enjoyed softer tunes and covers, including a nearly 3-minute trumpet solo (no breaks) that got the crowd on their feet.
However, later in the show, all it took to get the crowd on their feet was Trombone Shorty simply sayings “get on your feet,” along with some New Orleans funk. At that point, 100% of the crowd was on their feet, jumping, and dancing.
Before the “encore,” which was just Trombone Shorty walking 4 feet off stage and walking back on, the entire band headed off the stage, through the Taub Stage doors, and into the crowd as they walked throughout the theater. Trombone Shorty, sporting his signature trombone, along with his saxophone player, walked to the back of the theater, through the sound booth, and back down to the stage, even stopping to give some fans a fist-bump.
Orleans Avenue brought their friends in New Breed Brass Band to open the show for a half-hour set, one that seemed to be about four songs in length due to their lengthy jams.

Trombone Shorty will be back in New Jersey tonight, Nov. 21 at State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ.
