Kool & the Gang, coming straight from Jersey City, New Jersey, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday night.
The funk/soul pioneers, known for a diverse catalog including hits like Celebration and Get Down On It, are not new to the Hall of Fame.
“We do have some of our instruments in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, including a saxophone. But we were never inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” founding member Robert “Kool” Bell said to The Rolling Stone.
The band will enter the Hall of Fame alongside the likes of Dave Matthews Band, Ozzy Osbourne, Jimmy Buffett, A Tribe Called Quest, Cher, and many more in the diverse Class of 2024.
Even with an accolade like this, the band still stays true to New Jersey, part of its roots. In September, the group performed at Sea.Hear.Now Festival in Asbury Park. The festival included names like Bruce Springsteen, The Gaslight Anthem, and other New Jersey favorites.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame can be streamed live on Disney+ tonight at 7:00 pm ET, and will be on TV at a later date.

Along with the inductions, the ceremony will include an array of performers and collaborations – a true Celebration.
