The inaugural Soundside Festival, formerly Sound on Sound returned to Bridgeport, Connecticut this week for what was nothing short of a star-studded festival.

Even with the Foo Fighters dropping out at the last minute, Jack White and Greta Van Fleet, along with their company on day two made for an action-packed closing day. Noah Kahan brought his New England spirit down to Bridgeport on the first day.

The first day featured some of the biggest names in music all on the same stage. The one main stage features a rotating base that can make for quick ten-minute set changes. Among the biggest names were headliner Noah Kahan, Goo Goo Dolls, and Fleet Foxes.

As festivals around the country were feeling the effects of Hurricane Helene, like South Star and Louder Than Life, which had full days canceled, Soundside felt only little with just some rain over the weekend. The grounds in Seaside Park remained in good shape.

On day two, it wasn’t quite the original lineup, but it was still something that any festival would love to have. At the top of the bill, it was Jack White, Greta Van Fleet, and Bleachers, all of which were not on the original lineup.

White was scheduled to be on the west coast during the festival but was able to fit the time in before heading to Portland, Oregon the next day.

Though the Foo Fighters dropping out was a shame for some, most fans online appreciated the fact that there were two new headliners on the bill.

Among one of the bigger names was also Teddy Swims, who had the most Spotify monthly listeners of any artist by far.

Swims was accompanied alongside names like Norah Jones, Gregory Alan Isakov, and The War and Treaty.

The festival hints at a return in 2025, with their website splash page reading, “Be the first to know about 2025 dates” by signing up to their newsletter feed.
