CENTRAL PARK, NEW YORK – The Global Citizen Festival returns to the Great Lawn in New York City today, featuring the biggest names in music and activism.

From Post Malone to LISA to Benson Boone, the lineup is stacked head-to-toe with short sets from music’s biggest artists. Along with the music, there are guest speakers who will take the stage to talk about Global Citizen’s platform.

The festival was free to attend by earning tickets through activism on Global Citizen’s app. You were also able to purchase tickets for around $60.

Even with the rainy conditions, attendees are in their ponchos and ready to go. If you couldn’t get to New York for the free event, you can also stream the event live on VEEPS.com.


4:05 pm: Benson Boone takes the stage

Benson Boone, a late addition to the festival, takes the stage to kick off the festival. The young singer/songwriter performed four songs, including his big hit “Beautiful Things,” with a big pop from the crowd.


4:20 pm: Bill Nye talks climate

Scientist Bill Nye joins the stage to talk about climate change, weather, and Hurricane Helene’s impact on the world. Welcomed with a chant of “Bill, Bill, Bill,” Nye used famous Gen-Z words to talk about the climate and safe-water access in certain countries.


4:50 pm: Jelly Roll performs his first of three sets of the day

Rapper turned country star Jelly Roll is performing his first of three sets today. Later, he’ll be heading to Saturday Night Live for two performances. Last night, he sold out the Madison Square Garden, and tomorrow, he’ll be at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. No days off for Jelly!


5:00 pm: Jessie Murph joins Jelly Roll on stage

Nashville singer Jessie Murph joined Jelly Roll on stage to perform “Wild Ones” with him, a song they collaborated on.


5:30 pm – RAYE takes the midday slot at Global Citizen

Singer RAYE and her band took the stage and quickly started her set with “Oscar Winning Tears,” showing the whole crowd what’s up. Even though the singer is just 26 years old, she brings her own sound reminiscent of many years ago.


6:20 pm: DJ Khaled performs and announces FIFA Club World Cup venues

DJ Khaled arrives on stage for a surprise performance of “All I Do Is Win,” then introduces the FIFA President and hosts of the festival to announce the FIFA Club World Cup locations.

They announced the final will be taking place at MetLife Stadium in July of 2025.


6:25: Rauw Alejandro takes the stage

Puerto Rican-native Rauw Alejandro takes the stage for his long-awaiting performance. Rauw also performed at GovBall in New York earlier this summer.

The Spanish-speaking singer also debuted his newest track, “Pasaporte” live at the festival.


7:15: LISA causes crowd to errupt

LISA, member of BLACKPINK caused the biggest reaction of the crowd all night so far. The singer was one of the most anticipated acts online leading up to the festival.


8:15 pm: Doja Cat takes the stage

Doja Cat takes the stage starting with “WYM Freestyle” before kicking into the full performance.

Global Citizen also noted that there will be a special performance coming up.


9:00 pm: Ed Sheeran and Chris Martin collaborate for exclusive show

Ed Sheeran. Chris Martin. Surprise set.

The two performed two Ed Sheeran songs, “Shape of You” and “Thinking Out Loud,” while also doing two Coldplay songs, “Yellow” and “Viva la Vida.”


9:20 pm: Post Malone headlines festival

Post Malone comes back to New York just three months after his GovBall performance, this time performing songs from his newest country album, “Wrong Ones.”
