September has quickly crept up onto the Garden State – a great month for festivals and concerts. From Bruce Springsteen in his hometown to breakout artists like Jelly Roll, New Jersey has you covered this month.

September 1: Waxahatchee on the Stone Pony Summer Stage, Asbury Park

Waxahatchee, along with Snail Mail and Tim Heidecker, are kicking off another stacked month on the Summer Stage in Asbury Park.

September 1: Goose at PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel

Goose is bringing their ‘An Evening with Goose’ to the PNC Bank Arts Center for a long night of jam tunes.

September 6: +LIVE+ & Stone Temple Pilots at PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel

+LIVE+ and the Stone Temple Pilots, now fronted by America’s Got Talent contestant Jeff Gutt, are hitting the PNC Bank Arts Center on their ‘Jubilee’ tour. Stone Temple Pilots will be performing ‘Purple’ in full.

September 7: The Killers at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, Camden

Hot off their 20 Years of ‘Hot Fuss’ residency in Las Vegas, The Killers will be heading to New Jersey on their ‘Rebel Diamonds’ tour. The band headlined Sea.Hear.Now in 2023.

September 7: Rob Zombie & Alice Cooper at PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel

The great month for amphitheaters in Jersey continues with this awesome collaboration of Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper on the ‘Freaks on Parade’ tour.

September 8: Manchester Orchestra at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville

Manchester Orchestra is performing their hit record ‘Cope’ in full in celebration of its 10th anniversary. Militarie Gun will also be joining the tour.

September 9: Kacey Musgraves at Prudential Center, Newark

Kacey Musgraves is bringing country to the PruCenter! Father John, Misty, and Nickel Creek are joining Musgraves on the ‘Deeper Well World Tour.’

September 10: Dashboard Confessional on the Stone Pony Summer Stage, Asbury Park

After coming to the same venue with Andrew McMahon in 2022, Dashboard Confessional is back with their own headlining set. Boys Like Girls and Taylor Acorn are joining the fall tour for an ultimate pop-punk night!

September 11: Hawthorne Heights at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville

Hawthorne Heights, who have been killing it with their ‘Is For Lovers’ festival all across the United States, are celebrating 20 Years on the ‘20 Years of Tears’ tour. Cartel, Anberlin, Stick to Your Guns, Emergy, and This Wild Life are joining this stacked bill.

September 13: Falling in Reverse at PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel

Falling in Reverse, who just released a new record upon being released from jail, along with a collaboration with Jelly Roll, are headlining the PNC Bank Arts Center for the ‘Popular Monstour II: World Domination’ tour.

September 13: Jordan Davis at Etess Arena, Atlantic City

Jordan Davis is headlining the Etess Arena at the Hard Rock in AC this September. The country singer released his hit song ‘Buy Dirt,’ featuring Luke Bryan in 2021.

September 14: Noah Kahan at Sea.Hear.Now Day One, Asbury Park

The Sea.Hear.Now Festival kicks off its sixth year with Noah Kahan headlining the main stage. The Black Crowes, 311, The Revivalists, and many others will also be appearing on Saturday.

September 14: Don Omar at Prudential Center, Newark

Don Omar is bringing reggae to Newark with the ‘Back to Reggaeton’ tour!

September 15: Bruce Springsteen at Sea.Hear.Now Day Two, Asbury Park.

Bruce Springsteen. Asbury Park. It doesn’t get much cooler than that. Except it does, as he’s headlining a full three hours at Sea.Hear.Now Festival with 14 other bands on the bill for Sunday, including New Jersey’s own The Gaslight Anthem, Trey Anastasio Band, Action Bronson, Norah Jones, and more.

September 15: Laura Jane Grace at Anchor Rock Club, Atlantic City

If you aren’t heading to Sea.Hear.Now, this is a great show as Laura Jane Grace & The Mississippi Medicals, along with Taylor Hollingsworth, are hitting  a great venue. They’ll also be at the newly-renovated House of Independents on September 18th.

September 16: Staind & Breaking Benjamin at PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel

These are the two types of bands you think of when you think of a co-headlining show at the PNC Bank Arts Center. Staind and Breaking Benjamin will both be bringing the house down on a Monday night in New Jersey.

September 17: twenty one pilots at Prudential Center, Newark

twenty one pilots are bringing their ‘Clancy World Tour’ to Newark as the band is reaching new limits: arenas.

September 17: Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit: Count Basie Center for Arts, Red Bank

Not often are these Red Bank shows mentioned, but they are when Jason Isbell is headlining! Alejandro Escovedo will be joining the show.

September 20: Korn at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, Camden

Korn, along with Gojira and Spritbox, are hitting Camden as metal is back on the rise.

September 21: The Offspring at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, Camden

The Offspring is headlining this year’s MMRBQ festival in Camden, joined by Halestorm, Nothing More, P.O.D., and The Warning. If you’re hesitant to see them after recent concerts pre-CoVID – don’t be. They’ve much improved their live show since.

September 21: Ms. Lauryn Hill & the Fugees at PNC Bank Arts Center

Ms. Lauryn Hill is back in New Jersey, this time at the PNC Bank Arts Center, for ‘The Celebration Continues’ tour, continuing from last year. YG Marley is opening the show.

September 21: Alkaline Trio at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville

Alkaline Trio continue their ‘Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs’ tour in Sayreville, where they’ll be joining by Spanish Love Songs and Slomosa. Truly a great bill.

September 21: Joey Valence & Brae at Asbury Lanes, Asbury Park

You have to include Asbury Lanes here, especially when an act like Joey Valence & Brae roll through on their ‘NO HANDS’ tour.

September 21: $uicideboy$ at Prudential Center, Newark

$uicideboy$, along with the stacked lineup of Denzel Curry, Pouya, Haarper, Shakewell, and Ekkstacy are all hitting the PruCenter in Newark for the ‘Grey Day’ tour.

September 23: The Marley Brothers at PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel

YG Marley will open Ms. Lauryn Hill’s show on the 21st, but the Marley Brothers will be headlining the Arts Center on the ‘Legacy Tour.’

September 26: The Beaches at Asbury Lanes, Asbury

Fully female-fronted group The Beaches are headlining Asbury Lanes on the ‘Live on Stage’ tour. If you have nothing going on, check them out, it’s a great show. Actually, if you do have something going on, still go check them out.

September 27: Justin Moore & Randy Houser on the Stone Pony Summer Stage, Asbury Park

One of the final shows on the Summer Stage this season is a country one with Justin Moore and Randy Houser on their ‘The Country Round Here Tonight’ tour.

September 27: Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons at State Theatre, New Brunswick

This is another venue that isn’t usually featured a ton, but it is when Frankie Valli rolls through on the ‘Last Encores’ tour.

September 28: The Warped Tour Band at The Wellmont Theater, Montclair

The Warped Tour Band headlining The Wellmont was not on my bucket list this year! Check them out for a ton of pop-punk covers.

September 28: Creed at Etess Arena, Atlantic City

Creed is back for another New Jersey show in Atlantic City on the ‘Summer of ‘99’ tour!

September 28: Teddy Swims at Ovation Hall, Atlantic City

Teddy Swims, who headlined the One Bite Pizza Fest in New York in 2023 is headlining the Ovation Hall at the Ocean this year. Joining him is Freak Freely on the ‘I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy’ tour.

September 29: Jelly Roll at Prudential Center, Newark

Not many put more heart into a performance than Jelly Roll, and he’s rolling through on the ‘Beautifully Broken’ tour, ahead of his newest album’s release.

September 29: The Beach Boys at Bergen Performing Arts Center, Englewood

If Jelly Roll isn’t your vibe, The Beach Boys are back in New Jersey once again for another show on the ‘Endless Summer Gold’ tour.
