After Green Day’s last NJ appearance on their ‘Hella Mega Tour’ at Sea.Hear.Now Festival, they’re back in the area headlining Citi Field in Flushing, New York tonight.

Green Day, along with The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas, are all on the bill for the fourth show on the US leg of ‘The Saviors Tour.’

Not only are Green Day supporting their new record, ‘Saviors,’ they’re also playing two of their biggest records in full: ‘Dookie’ for its 30th anniversary and ‘American Idiot’ for its 20th anniversary.

It’ll be Green Day’s first time at Citi Field since 2019, when they headlined the ‘Hella Mega Tour’ along with Weezer and what was supposed to be Fall Out Boy before they dropped out of the show due to CoVID-19. The Interrupters were also on the bill.

The Smashing Pumpkins, who released a new record Friday, are also on the bill. They’ll be opening, though still playing an hour, which seems short compared to Green Day’s 180 minutes.

The Pumpkins’ 13-song set features hits like ‘Zero,’ ‘Cherub Rock,’ and ‘1979.’

Opening the show are punk-legends in Rancid, who many Green Day fans are excited to see. Rancid released a new record in 2023, ‘Tomorrow Never Comes,’ though never toured in North America for it.

Rancid will get a thirty-minute set, starting at 6:05 pm, which is still plenty of time for them to play more songs than the Pumpkins.

It will also be Rancid’s first time in the area in a while, as their last show in New Jersey was in 2021 as part of the ‘Boston to Berkeley II’ tour with Dropkick Murphys. They were supposed to headline 1234 Fest in Camden before its cancellation.

Finally, the first opener, The Linda Lindas are on the bill. They’re set to perform for twenty-minutes starting at around 5:30 pm. The Linda Lindas just performed at Asbury Lanes in late July, as well as in 2023 at the Adjacent Festival in Atlantic City.
