The Aces, formed in Utah, are a fully female-fronted group, featuring sisters Cristal (vocals/guitar) and Alisa (drums) Ramirez, McKenny Petty (bass), and Katie Henderson (guitar/vocals).
The band started in the early 2010s with their debut EP, ‘I Don’t Like Being Honest,’ released in 2017. Their first full-length EP came in 2018, featuring hits like ‘Stuck’ and ‘Fake Nice.’ Their most recent effort, ‘I’ve Loved You For So Long,’ was released in 2023 and features 11 tracks, including successful songs like the self-titled and ‘Girls Make Me Wanna Die.’
As they prepare for Sea.Hear.Now, excitement is building, and though we don’t know their exact stage and set time, we know it’ll be pretty early on Sunday due to their lineup positioning.
The Aces embark on their summer tour in September, which makes an early stop in New Jersey for Sea.Hear.Now. It’ll be their first show in the state since 2018, when they played two shows at PNC Bank Arts Center and the BB&T Pavilion, opening for 5 Seconds of Summer. For their first NJ appearance in six years, we have to make sure they get a warm welcome on Sunday afternoon ahead of Bruce Springsteen.
The Aces have been on a roll with festivals this year, playing many in the first half before their tour. They were at the new Lovin’ Life Festival in Charlotte, Sunfest in West Palm Beach, both Kentucky and Cincinnati Pride, along with Tecate Pa’l Norte in Mexico. They’ll also be at Riot Fest in Chicago following Sea.Hear.Now.
The Aces are the only fully female-fronted group on the Sea.Hear.Now lineup this year, though the festival has had plenty in the past.
