The Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival Summer Sessions have been canceled for 2024, the festival announced in an Instagram post.
The festival was set to be headlined by The Menzingers, Fortunate Youth, and Schwayze. The festival was set to take place on Bader Field in Atlantic City on July 13th, where it has taken place since the CoVID-19 pandemic.
In the statement posted to Instagram, founder Jon Henderson stated low ticket sales to be the reason of the cancelation. The festival is also going head-to-head against The Peach at the Beach Festival, taking place the same day in Atlantic City. The Peach at the Beach revealed their dates after AC Beer Fest.
The statement was read as followed on Instagram:
I come to you today with a very somber message. I haven’t had to do a message like this since 2020. Due to poor ticket sales, the July 13th Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival is cancelled. I know some of you folks who purchased tickets are disappointed – we are as well. The team and I were really looking forward to it, the bands, the beer, and the fun shenanigans. But, here we are. Looking at the financial longevity of Good Time Tryicyle, and the things that work and don’t, unfortunately the July 13th [festival] just wasn’t clicking. So, we’re cancelling.
He also went on explaining how you can get refunds, which can be done through the ticketing provider. If you purchased tickets at one of the ticketing events, you can email the festival to get that worked out.
The festival had a successful Spring Sessions, headlined by Goldfinger, Hot Mulligan, and Saves the Day at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The festival wanted to do an event indoors at the convention center for the original fans, and a festival outside for those who like that vibe.
There is no word yet on the 2025 edition of the festival, or anything from the bands who were set to play the Summer Sessions this year.
