The Governors Ball officially starts tomorrow and runs through the entire weekend in Flushing, New York, and features performances from SZA, Post Malone, and The Killers, among others.
With the festival right around the corner, it’s good to know what’s going on during the festival. There are a ton of experiences and things to do other than the music.
Know Before You Go
Before you go, you should activate your wristband. This allows for easier payment at merch and food stands, as you can put a card on file on your wristband. It also enables extra safety features.
If you’re wondering how to get to the festival, there are a few ways, but the best ways are through rideshare or train. You can take 7 into Mets-Willets Point and have a short walk right into the festival, or rideshare near the NY Hall of Science, a 15-minute walk from the entrance.
You should also know the bag policy. Any bag will be searched before entry, so it’s quickest to just not bring a bag. Bags must be 6” x 9” or smaller if you don’t want them to be clear, or they can be 12” x 6” x “12”, but they must be clear. Hydration packs are also allowed, but they have to be empty upon entry. There are free water stations inside the festival grounds.
There are also lockers available. You can reserve your locker ahead of time to ensure you get one, and it allows you to keep your belongings somewhere safe during the festival.
Below you can view the festival map, which features the stage locations, food areas, and other experience locations.
Box Office Hours: 11:00 am – 8:30 pm.

Performance Preview
For the past few weeks, we have been compiling individual GovBall artist previews, which you can read here.
Friday:
Friday features a headline set by Post Malone, who is coming off his new hit country single, ‘I Had Some Help’ featuring Morgan Wallen.
Rauw Alejandro is also listed as a headliner, as he’ll be closing out the GoPuff stage. Among those two, notable names also include Labrinth, Dominic Fike, Alex G, Teezo Touchdown, Yung Gravy, and Ryan Beatty.
Friday night also features an aftershow with The Killers at Bowery Ballroom, which will likely coincide with Post Malone’s set.
Saturday:
Saturday is headlined by The Killers, who are probably the weakest headliner in terms of size, however will probably put on the best show. The day also includes the best undercard, according to many. 21 Savage, coming off his hit ‘redrum’ is closing the GoPuff stage. GoPuff also includes acts like Sexxy Red, Bakar, and The Thing.
At the same time, TV Girl is closing down the IHG Stage, the same stage that includes performances from Hippo Campus and d4vd.
The main stage will be closed down by The Killers, but also features Carly Rae Jepsen, Sabrina Carpenter, and Jessie Murph. There are many conflicts on Saturday, which just means the booking team did a great job!
Sunday:
The festival concludes with a day full of all sorts of acts. School of Rock Brooklyn opens up the day on the main stage, but the day continues with names like Fcuckers, G Flip, Geese, and Kevin Abstract.
As the day starts to come to an end, you can catch Chappell Roan, who is playing to crowds the size of headliners at festivals. You can also see Renee Rapp, before concluding your day with SZA.
On the side stages, you can see Peso Pluma, Faye Webster, Stephen Sanchez, Cannons, and Don Toliver, all of which are recommended.
With there being so many names on this stacked lineup, it’s going to be tough to see everyone you’d like. Be sure to tag us in your Instagram stories and posts!
