Brian Fallon, frontman of The Gaslight Anthem, opened the new House of Independents in Asbury Park over the weekend.

After House of Independents closed in 2023 due to flooding which caused over $500,000 in damage, the venue was acquired by Concert Crave to be renovated and reopened.

Fallon was the first headlining artist to perform at the newly renovated venue, in which he performed two sold out nights at. It was his first set at the venue since 2018. He’s played at the venue five times in the past.

Night one was a set full of Gaslight Anthem and solo songs, 17 in total. Fallon performed for an hour and 15 minutes, ending the night at 10:15 pm. The setlist featured songs like History Books, American Slang, and Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts.

Night two was the same length, but with a slightly different setlist. Fallon played nine songs from The Gaslight Anthem, with six solo songs. He opened the show with Great Expectations, and continued with songs like 45, Halloween, and closed the show with Smoke, a solo song from his record ‘Painkillers’.

The next event at the House is a Disney DJ night on Friday, June 7th. Other notable shows this year include Remember Jones on June 29th, The Wailers on July 6th, three nights from The Starting Line in late July.

Brian Fallon’s main band, The Gaslight Anthem, is also performing at the Stone Pony Summer Stage this summer before subheadlining Sea.Hear.Now Festival in September.
