American surf rock band The Beach Boys are set to open the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel for the summer.
The show, taking place Saturday night, will be the first show at the PNC Bank Arts Center this season, however there have been a couple non-concert events at the venue, such as graduations. The venue hosted Steven Institute of Technology’s graduation in May, featuring a commencement speech by Marques Brownlee.
The venue will host nearly 40 concerts this summer season. The venue can hold around 17,000 guests, including 10,000 in the lawn and 7,000 seated under the pavilion.
Tonight’s show with The Beach Boys will be the first of many in the state for the band. They are performing at the Barefoot Country Music Festival next month, and have some smaller shows in South Jersey.
Last year, the band performed at Sea.Hear.Now Festival. The band is fronted by Mike Love, an original member, along with John Stamos from Full House.
The show tonight will be opened by special guest Dave Mason and is set to begin at 7:00 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm, according to an Instagram post by the venue.
The show is the first of many this year. Here is a list of shows coming this month at the PNC
