Famous Asbury Park music venue House of Independents is set to reopen this summer after being acquired by Concert Crave.

The venue shut down in November of 2023 due to flooding which left the venue in bad shape and with no other option to shut down. It would have cost $500,000, according to the venue, to renovate and repair the building.

Concert Crave will now be helping the venue relaunch this summer, after they posted a post on Instagram reading the following: “See you in the summer! House of Independents 2.0 is now loading…”

The venue has hosted numerous artists, including The Mezingers, Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem, Turnstile, Less Than Jake, and many more.

House of Independents opened in November of 2015, with a show by Murphy’s Law and Fishbone. Their last show was by Soul Blind in October of 2023.

Not only are Concert Crave acquiring the House of Independents, they also acquired Webster Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut recently. They are also in charge of Crave Crave in Elizabeth, NJ.

House of Independents wasn’t the only venue to shut down recently, as Convention Hall and Paramount Theatre are yet to return after closing in 2021. Hopefully, they can open up soon as House of Independents is paving the way to do so.
