Happy April, New Jerseyans and others in the area. Here is a list of featured shows in New Jersey. Concert season is beginning to start up again, and in just a month we’ll start seeing outdoor shows!

April 4: Bayside at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville

Bayside is bringing Finch, Armor for Sleep, and Winona Fighter along with them on ‘The Worse Things Than Being Alive Tour’ at the Starland Ballroom. Bayside, from New York, are known in the punk community as a very good live band.

April 4 & 5: Drake at Prudential Center, Newark

Drake is bringing Lil Wayne and Lil Durk to the Prudential Center for two nights on the ‘It’s All A Blur Tour’.

April 6: Start Making Sense at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

The Talking Heads tribute band is bringing along the local Ocean Ave Stompers on the horns for a show at the Pony. Tickets are sold out for the show.

April 6: Primus, Puscifer, and A Perfect Circle at Etess Arena, Atlantic City

The three bands are playing a unique show at Etess Arena at Hard Rock in Atlantic City. The three are playing unique sets at bigger venues. Tickets are starting at $99.

April 7: Giant Rooks at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

Giant Rooks are bringing their ‘How Have You Been? The Tour.’ to Asbury Park on Sunday. The German rock band are touring their new record, ‘How Have You Been?’ Tickets are still available for $25.

April 7: In Conversation with The Sopranos at Wellmont Theater, Montclair

Sopranos members Steve Schirripa, Vincent Pastore, and Michael Imperioli are taking the theater stage in Montclair with host and comedian Joey Kola. The Sopranos will be having a 90-minute conversation, along with a Q&A session where fans in attendance can ask questions to the cast.

April 12: The Warped Tour Band at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

The legendary Warped Tour Band is coming back to The Stone Pony again in April, playing tribute songs for all the classic emo and pop-punk bands. They are bringing along Green Day tribute band Dookie and blink-182 tribute band All the Blink Things.

April 12: Descendants & Circle Jerks at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville

Descendants and Circle Jerks are bringing Adolescents to Sayreville for another punk show at Starland. Circle Jerks have only played twice in New Jersey in the last 15 years and Descendants were last in the state in 2022 for Punk in Drublic Festival.

April 12: Dan + Shay at Prudential Center, Newark

Country group Dan + Shay is bringing their ‘Heartbreak on a Map’ tour to Newark this April at the Prudential Center along with Ben Rector and Hailey Whitters.

April 12: Hot Mulligan at AC Beer Fest, Atlantic City Convention Center, Atlantic City

Hot Mulligan is headlining session one of AC Beer Fest Spring Sessions in Atlantic City. The day is full of music and beer. Session one will also feature openers Free Throw and Just Friends, along with Afloat, Red Desert Motel, and The Williamsboy on the acoustic stage.

April 13: Saves the Day at AC Beer Fest, Atlantic City Convention Center, Atlantic City

Saves the Day is headlining session two of the beer fest, one of two sessions on this day. The session also features Catch 22 and Action Adventure, as well as Sleep Cycles, LT, Mike Carney, and Tam Garcia on the acoustic stage.

April 13: Goldfinger at AC Beer Fest, Atlantic City Convention Center, Atlantic City

Goldfinger is headlining the final session of the beer fest, the same day as Saves the Day. You will need to buy separate tickets for this session. The day features Cliffdiver and Keep Flying, with the acoustic stage featuring Don’t Panic, CJSooy, Jersey Calling, and P-Funk North.

April 14: Grayscale & Smallpools at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

Grayscale, originated in Philadelphia, and Smallpools are bringing their co-headline NightShift Tour to The Stone Pony. They’re bringing guests The Romance and Fia James for the Sunday night show.

April 14: Movements at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville

Alt-rock band Movements is coming to Sayreville with Tigers Jaw, Webbed Wing, and Paerish on the ‘Ruckus!’ tour. Movements were featured at the Sad Summer Festival in Asbury in 2021.

April 20: Emo Nite Brooklyn at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

Emo Nite Brooklyn is always a fun time, especially at The Stone Pony. ENB is a late-night DJ party set with emo and pop-punk songs. The show starts at 10:00 pm and is set to be a super fun party. Plus, tickets are only $15.

April 20: Cypress Hill, Sublime with Rome, Action Bronson, Souls of Mischief at Etess Arena, Atlantic City

The four bands are coming together for a huge show at Etess Arena at the Hard Rock in AC. This will be Sublime with Rome’s penultimate show in the state, before their final show at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in the summer.

April 24: The 502s at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

The 502s have added The Stone Pony to their ‘Great American Road Trip’ tour, along with guests Daniel Nunnelee. The Floridian band is self-labeled as “the happiest band on earth.” The six-piece band is a super fun time and combines beach rock and folk into one great genre.

April 25: The Driver Era at Wellmont Theater, Montclair

The Driver Era are coming to New Jersey for just the second time, their first being in 2022 at Starland Ballroom. TDE features two former R5 band members: Ross Lynch and Rocky Lynch.

April 27: Laffsbury Park presents Kevin Smith & Jason Mewes at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

Danny Clinch, the famous Asbury photographer and the man behind Sea.Hear.Now, has launched his newest project, Laffsbury Park, bringing comedy to Asbury Park. The first event at the Stone Pony features Jay and Silent Bob Get Old: Kevin Smith & Jason Mewes with special guest Tommy Stinson. Tickets are still available for $70 for the show at Asbury’s most famous venue.

April 27: The Slackers at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville

Ska-punk and Russian rock band The Slackers are returning to Starland Ballroom at the end of April with The Pietasters, Catbite, and Joker’s Republic. This is a great show lineup if you want to have a good time at a ska-punk show in a great venue. Catbite is a local band who are loved by the people in the area. The Slackers are also familiar with the area as they hold their annual The Slackers Secret Party in Jackson Township.

April 27: Me First & the Gimme Gimmes at Asbury Lanes, Asbury ParkMe First & the Gimme Gimmes, a cover band turning traditional pop songs into punk rock songs, are bringing The Defiant and UltraBomb on their ‘Let Us Play Your Party’ tour. The bands will be playing at the legendary Asbury Lanes bowling alley in Asbury Park, a great spot for a show, especially the Gimme Gimmes.
